Celebrating over 10 years of webhistory

The dark archives…

Whilest I was cleaning up my webserver I found in the dark archives my first webpages and when I looked back at the creation date I realized I started creating webpages over ten years ago.

My first webpage

My first webpage was created in 1997 and was all about penfriends. It already had a kind of dynamical data processing ability. People were able to register themselves through a webform, which then send that data to an email address and tons of scripts turned that email into a webpage. Today we would call it PHP & MySQL, weblive is so much easier now…

New Webstack

After a zillion attacks by hackers I decided to rebuild my webstack. My webserver is now completly overhauled and I also updated my scripts. WordPress is one of my scripts and since I really like it I decided to not only update the script but also choose a new theme.

Must say I was surprised about the way WordPress developed, probably my last update was a few years ago. Recently I have also fallen in love with Joomla and I am think of migrating my website (www.eppenga.com) to Joomla. At work I am responsible for marketing automation and we are currently migrating all those sites to Joomla as well.

Anyway, my webstack is back online, stronger than ever!
